LAUNCH - Year 4 Introduction to the 11+ Programme

Starting early allows children to develop skills, confidence and familiarity at a pace that feels natural and enjoyable.

Across the Autumn, Spring and Summer terms, children are gradually introduced to the styles of thinking commonly assessed by selective schools. Through engaging activities, games and carefully structured challenges, they explore new ways of solving problems, identifying patterns, making connections and thinking critically, building strong foundations before more intensive preparation begins in Year 5.

Through hands-on activities, collaborative challenges and carefully structured learning experiences, children develop resilience, independence and self-belief in a supportive and enjoyable environment. Lessons are designed to spark curiosity, encourage perseverance and foster a genuine love of learning.

Led by a highly experienced and qualified teacher with an exceptional track record of preparing pupils for selective school admissions, LAUNCH provides a positive introduction to the 11+ journey without the pressure often associated with exam preparation. Rather than focusing on intensive testing, the programme is designed to nurture confident learners with strong learning habits and a willingness to embrace challenge.

LAUNCH is structured across the Autumn, Spring and Summer terms, with each module designed to build and extend children's skills, confidence and understanding over time.

By the end of the programme, children will have developed stronger reasoning skills, a richer vocabulary, greater confidence when tackling unfamiliar problems and the academic foundations needed to progress successfully into VOYAGE, Rocketology's Year 5 11+ Development Programme.

All learning materials and resources are included within the course fee.

Lessons are delivered through engaging games, discussions, practical activities and collaborative challenges, creating a supportive environment where children can develop confidence whilst enjoying the learning process. Both the Autumn and Summer term includes the ORBIT Assessment, giving a clear picture of your child's strengths, development needs and next learning steps.

Programme Structure

• Mondays, 4.30pm–5.30pm (1 hr)

• 10 teaching lessons per term

• Additional ORBIT Assessment sessions in the Autumn and Summer terms to monitor progress and guide personalised next steps

• 7 September – 7 December 2026

• Half-term break: 19 October – 30 October 2026

Spring Term 2027

• 4 January – 15 March 2027

• Half-term break: 15 February – 19 February 2027

Summer Term 2027

• 19 April – 5 July 2027

• Half-term break: 31 May – 4 June 2027

Fees

• £450 per term

• £50 deposit to reserve your child's place (deducted from the programme fee)

• Remaining balance invoiced before the programme begins

• ORBIT assessment included (if applicable for that term)

• All learning materials and resources included

Progression

• Priority enrolment for subsequent terms is offered to existing LAUNCH pupils.

• Progression into VOYAGE, Rocketology's Year 5 11+ Development Programme
