Step into a world where reading becomes an adventure! Our Rocket Readers book club—designed for Years 5 and 6 (including those preparing for the 11+)—offers a unique, engaging approach to reading and comprehension. Across 10 interactive, hourly online sessions per term, your child will discover the magic of stories while building essential comprehension skills.
This term, we dive deep into The Explorer by Katherine Rundell—a thrilling tale of survival and friendship set deep in the Amazon rainforest.

OVERVIEW
Each week, children read a set number of pages independently, ready for the next session’s interactive activities:
Summary Sprint: Each session begins with a student-led summary of the week's reading, developing concise speaking and listening skills.
Quiz Quest: Children put their comprehension to the test with a fast-paced quiz to keep brains buzzing, covering a range of comprehension question types.
Vocabulary Vault: We unlock ambitious words from the chapters and engage in targeted vocabulary-building activities.
Plot Twister: A focused exploration of characters, themes, dilemmas, and emotions, promoting critical and creative thinking.
Imagination Station: We wrap up each session with a creative challenge, ready to be shared and celebrated next time.
