The VOYAGE – Developing the 11+ Skillset for Year 5 children is designed to expand the knowledge, understanding and techniques children need for the reasoning sections of the 11+ entrance examinations.
Throughout the Summer Term, students will strengthen their Verbal, Non-Verbal and Spatial Reasoning skills, becoming familiar with the wide range of question types used in grammar and independent school assessments.
This course focuses on developing core reasoning knowledge and structured problem-solving techniques, helping children recognise patterns, understand logical processes and apply strategies accurately. As the term progresses, pupils will also begin to develop greater speed, accuracy, and exam awareness, preparing them for the more advanced preparation that takes place in Year 6.
Through clear explanations, guided teaching and carefully structured practice, students gain the understanding and confidence needed to approach unfamiliar reasoning questions with assurance.
VOYAGE forms part of the Rocketology 11+ Preparation Series, supporting children throughout Year 5 as they build the foundations required for successful exam preparation

OVERVIEW
The VOYAGE Course focuses on developing the knowledge and skillset required for 11+ reasoning papers.
Across the term, students will:
• learn the techniques used to solve all 11+ reasoning question types
• develop understanding of Verbal, Non-Verbal and Spatial reasoning concepts
• practise applying structured problem-solving strategies
• strengthen logical thinking and pattern recognition
• improve accuracy when tackling multi-step questions
• begin building speed and confidence for exam-style reasoning papers
Lessons focus not only on answering questions but on helping children understand the reasoning behind each method, enabling them to apply their knowledge to new and unfamiliar problems.
